During the summer months it's too hot to shoot outdoors after about 9:00 AM, and there are no indoor shooting ranges nearby, therefore, I no longer hold classes from June through the end of August. Scheduled times listed above are not exact and are subject to adjustments depending on the number of students.

The following topics are covered in the 8 hour class:

  • Legal issues relating to the use of deadly force

  • Judgmental shooting

  • Mental conditioning for the use of deadly force

  • Safe handling and storage of firearms

  • Weapon care and maintenance

  • Weapon manipulation and marksmanship

  • State-to-State CCW Reciprocity and Recognition

You should bring the following items with you to class:

  • Black ink pen

  • Note pad (if you would like to take notes)

  • Balance of payment due (if any)

And for the range, everyone will need to bring:

  • Holstered or cased unloaded handgun (Minimum Cal is .22LR. Do not bring any firearms into the building, leave them/it locked in your car until directed otherwise)

  • 10 Rounds of ammunition (20 or more if you want to practice first)

  • Eye protection (Shooting glasses or goggles preferred)

  • Ear protection (ear muffs or foam plugs, etc.)

*NOTE: Anyone who has a felony conviction will be disqualified from obtaining a CCW permit from the State of Arizona even if the conviction was expunged, vacated or set aside and/or their civil rights have been restored, even if they have the right to own a firearm. Felony Arrests are different; and any applicant who has been arrested for a felony but not convicted of a felony may qualify for a permit with documentation proving the charges were dropped or they were otherwise not convicted of a felony. Anyone with a misdemeanor conviction related to domestic violence will also be disqualified from receiving a concealed weapon permit unless the charges were later set aside or expunged.
